A creative player in the marketplace
E.I.C. or European International Communications was founded on 1 February 1994 by current CEO Guy Van Erp. At that time, the market was favourable and the market was open for VHS video products. Guy Van Erp anticipated immediately.
VHS, DVD & Blu-ray distribution
After a few years of intensive work, E.I.C. became an established and respected player in the Benelux market. E.I.C.'s core business was, in the first instance, the distribution to wholesalers of VHS products, and migrated to DVD products at a later stage. At the same time, the company worked to supply the retail trade and semi-wholesale businesses. The customer base grew gradually, as did E.I.C.'s workforce.
An enthusiastic 17-strong team now works at the distribution centre in Beerzel.
Various film companies have been making use of E.I.C.'s knowhow in distribution for some considerable time. Both major and independent film companies are happy to entrust their products to the E.I.C. team.
Merchandise distribution
Besides distribution of VHS, DVD & Blu-ray products, E.I.C. became an important partner for STUDIO 100. The extensive range of merchandising products of this successful company was also added to the company's catalogue. This contributed to E.I.C. becoming a real specialist in the distribution of merchandise products in Belgium. Not only the products produced by STUDIO 100 itself, but also articles made by third parties or other licensees at STUDIO 100 are sold to customers via E.I.C.
Not just the STUDIO 100 characters, but also other characters that are popular with children, such as Musti, Hopla, etc. are marketed enthusiastically and on a large scale by E.I.C.
E.I.C. = efficient distribution
Since the offices and warehouse of E.I.C. are in the same building and the excellent teamwork, customers can rely on fast and professional service service and delivery. Well-organised processes ensure efficient interaction between the people responsible for each segment, i.e. product management, PR & marketing, field sales, indoor sales and logistics.
E.I.C.'s own DVD labels... Lime-Lights Pictures & Orion Channel
In 2003, Guy Van Erp decided to purchase DVD rights for the Benelux territory. That was the beginning of the in-house E.I.C. DVD labels ‘Lime Lights Pictures' and ‘Orion Channel'.
These in-house DVD labels have been carving out a place of their own in the DVD market. Whereas Lime Lights Pictures focuses on high-quality TV series, Orion Channel offers an extensive choice of documentaries in various categories including history, science, religion and leisure.
The future challenge for the team behind Lime Lights Pictures and Orion Channel will be to broaden the scope of the range of high-quality products even further, and sell them to the final consumer. All new titles must be chosen with care, beautifully packed and marketed with 'love of what we do'.
